Surgery & Anesthesia / Analgesia
Anesthesia is a medically induced state of temporary loss of sensation, perception, and consciousness, administered through specialized anesthesia drugs. Analgesia refers to pain relief, ensuring patient comfort before, during, and after procedures.
We provide exceptional surgical and anesthesia care, with superior pain management. Our anesthesia team is led by Lori Trail, CVT, VTS (Anesthesia/Analgesia), who honed her expertise at the University of Pennsylvania before joining GCAH. She is joined by experienced technicians Jen Wickward, CVT, and Sara Kennedy, CVT. Each anesthesia case is carefully managed, with continuous monitoring of ECG, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, body temperature, anesthetic depth, and end-tidal CO₂ levels.
Our surgical team, including Dr. Trail and Dr. Stewart, has over 20 years of experience in soft tissue surgeries such as:
- Spays and neuters
- Tumor removals
- Cystotomies (bladder surgery)
- Urinary obstructions
- Entropion and enucleation (eye procedures)
- Intestinal foreign body removal
- Ear hematomas
- Digit amputations
